Energy is stored in 96 lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePO₄) in the 33140 form factor (33 mm diameter, 140 mm height).

Lithium iron phosphate was chosen for its good thermal stability and long cycle life, at the cost of slightly lower energy density than other lithium chemistries.
